Governor Beebe to Help With Costs for Pulaski County Debris Removal

Governor Beebe to Help With Costs for Pulaski County Debris Removal

LITTLE ROCK - Governor Mike Beebe announced Friday that he will release $500,000 in State funds to assist Pulaski County in removing debris from the April 27 tornado. Pulaski County is not included in the Public Assistance portion of the federal disaster declaration. As a result, the damaged areas of West Pulaski County will not receive federal aid for debris removal costs.

Beebe will release $350,000 from his Emergency Fund, and $150,000 from General Improvement Funds.

The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will continue helping individual storm victims as well, but that part of process is beginning to wind down. So far, $68.7 million in both individual and commercial damage claims have been made in Faulkner, Pulaski, Randolph and White Counties from the April 27 storms.
