DPA Statement: Mike Ross Clear Choice for Governor over “Out of Touch Hutch”

DPA Statement: Mike Ross Clear Choice for Governor over “Out of Touch Hutch”

May 20, 2014

Tonight, Democratic Party of Arkansas Chair Vincent Insalaco released the following statement:

“I’d like to congratulate my good friend Mike Ross on his victory tonight and look forward to working to make him the next Governor of our great state.  This fall, Arkansans will choose between Mike Ross and out of touch DC lobbyist Asa Hutchinson and the choice couldn’t be clearer:  Mike Ross is the best choice by a mile.

“When it comes to issues important to working families, Congressman Hutchinson ought to be called ‘Out of Touch Hutch.’ He opposes raising the minimum wage and called expanding pre-K in Arkansas ‘irresponsible.’ It takes a lot of nerve to oppose policies that will help working families when you bill $650 an hour as a DC insider, but that’s Asa for you — totally disconnected.

“When Congressman Hutchinson went to Washington he became a big spending bureaucrat, DC lobbyist and Virginia voter. Now Asa wants back in to Arkansas but the truth is ‘Out of Touch Hutch’ left his Arkansas values behind long ago.”
